One of the most difficult moments for many referees and assistant referees is the stress they endure in the first moments of the official competition!
I will tell you five simple, short but important recommendations that I am sure will solve your problem!
1- Having stress before the competition is not only strange, but also necessary! The important issue is the amount of that stress and your reaction to that stress!
2- Everyone who is in the match "from the opposing players to the coaches and referees and..." are all stressed and you are not alone!
3- Start the first moments of the match quite simply and don't judge risk at all, and if you judge simply, after some time passes, most of the stress will disappear!
4- Don’t try not to make mistakes. The one who doesn’t make any mistakes won’t win the competition, the one who makes less mistakes than other factors will win!
5- Only and only focus on the task that you are responsible for, not the performance of others, the result, the referee, etc.
